  • Amanda Watkins, PhD, RD, LDN, IBCLC

    Dr. Watkins is the Executive Director for Global Lactation Education Associates, LLC. Her passion for teaching academic and professional breastfeeding courses stems from over 20 years of experience working as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant; she has worked in public health and taught college-level professional lactation courses. She was appointed and served two terms on the Lactation Education Accreditation and Approval Review Committee’s (LEAARC) Board of Directors. She owns a private practice in Cary, NC where she assists families in achieving their infant feeding goals. Amanda has published numerous research articles; her research interests include breastfeeding educational interventions for health professionals and community-based breastfeeding decisions.

  • Christia Bridges-Jones, DNP, FNP-C, IBCLC

    Dr. Bridges-Jones has spent over 15 years assisting breastfeeding families and educating lactation support providers. She is currently working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at a community health clinic. Christia also serves as a contract lactation consultant and program advisor for WIC agencies in Arizona and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands. She has helped dozens of candidates successfully prepare for the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) exam. Previously as Breastfeeding Coordinator for the Arizona Department of Health Services, she coordinated the LATCH-AZ educational program that brought many of the internationally known lactation experts to Arizona. Additionally, through the Arizona Baby Steps to Breastfeeding Success Program, she educated the maternity staff at 11 hospitals across Arizona about maternity practices supportive of breastfeeding.

  • Kathleen Marinelli, MD, FABM, FAAP, IBCLC

    Dr. Marinelli is a Professor of Pediatrics, a neonatologist and a member of the Human Milk Research Center at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hartford, CT. She was one of the inaugural group of 20 physicians to be recognized as "Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine" (FABM) and served 12 years on the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) Board of Directors, chairing their Protocol Committee for many years. She is a Past-Chair of the United States Breastfeeding Committee and has served on the International Lactation Consultatant Association's (ILCA) Board of Directors. Kathie is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Breastfeeding, a volunteer on the medical advisory committee to Baby-Friendly USA, and has chaired the Baby-Friendly USA NICU Initiative. She was founding Medical Director of the New England Mother's Milk Bank and has served as co-Medical Director of the Mothers' Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes. She lectures extensively in the US and abroad and has authored numerous publications.

  • Nina Isaac, MS, CCC-SLP, IBCLC

    Ms. Isaac is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Speech-Language Pathologist and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, specializing in infant feeding and swallowing with newborns, infants and toddlers. She is co-owner of Milk and Honey Specialized Breastfeeding and Postpartum Support Center, supporting families throughout Arizona to meet their breastfeeding goals. The Center is the only one of its kind in Arizona. Nina is passionate about helping infants whose feeding is impacted by prematurity, neurological deficits, anatomical issues (including tongue-tie and cleft lip and palate) as well as those babies who just got off to a difficult start. She has taught and lectured throughout Arizona to parents, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, lactation consultants, nurses and physicians on topics such as tongue-tie, infant feeding, swallowing, breastfeeding, and transitioning to solids. More recently Nina had the opportunity to teach in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE.
